We learned very quickly that we have 5 senses. Children learned about the human senses in the activities, tasting, smelling, observing with binoculars, creating by touch. By hearing, they recognized sounds.

Once again this year  photographers Mr. and Mrs. Černí visited us with a beautiful Christmas photo shoot. The children thoroughly enjoyed the photo shoot and we were delighted with the Christmas greetings and photos.

This week has been dedicated to our teeth. We talked about what our teeth are for, what harms them and how to keep them healthy and white like pearls. The children modelled their mouths with playdough, drew tooth decay, made a cup with toothpaste and a toothbrush.

With the children we visited the children's city library, where an interactive theatrical performance Journey for Magic took place. The children explored emotions like happiness, sadness, fear, anger.

St. Nicholas visited our kindergarten. With the children we decorated the Christmas tree and looked forward to the arrival of Nicholas.

Gingerbread cookies, linzer cookies smelled all over the kindergarten. Children kneaded, rolled dough, cut out cookies, which they took home after baking.

The Christmas party was full of Christmas spirit which was taken care of by the children with their programme of poems, songs and dances. The atmosphere was completed by joint creation, workshops with parents. Together they could make a christmas tree or beeswax candles.

How long the year is, how many seasons in months, weeks in itself we learned this week. The children explored time relationships in activities. 

We painted a winter landscape, made glittery snowflakes using salt, made snowmen out of geometric shapes and snow.

Interactive exhibition in Bibiana offers an educational experience for children. Children explored different countries by travelling around the world and completing tasks. 

This week we have been looking at animals in winter. How they hibernate, which fly away to warmer countries but also about caring for whatever through the freezing weather.
